Confidants is an AI-powered journaling app that lets you create personalized AI companions for emotional support and self-reflection. You can design your own Confidants with custom names, appearances, and personality styles, then chat with them about anything on your mind.

After signing up, you'll be guided through creating your first Confidant:

1. Choose a personality style that matches what you need (like "Calm & Patient" or "Honest & Direct")
2. Customize their appearance - skin tone, hair style, expression, and colors
3. Give them a name
4. Start chatting!

No. Confidants is designed to complement, not replace, professional mental health support. Our AI Confidants are not licensed therapists or counselors.

Each personality style is designed for different needs:

• Reflective: Creates space to breathe and think. Listens deeply without rushing.
• Honest: Tells it like it is - with love. Calls out avoidance patterns.
• Nurturing: Unconditional support. Makes you feel safe and accepted.
• Exploratory: Goes deep. Asks questions that open new doors.

Yes! With a Plus subscription, you can create up to 10 Confidants. Many users create different Confidants for different areas of their life - one for work stress, one for relationships, one for creative projects, etc. Each Confidant only knows what you've shared with them.

Yes! Your Confidants remember previous conversations and can recall relevant context when you chat with them. This is powered by semantic memory - they don't just remember word-for-word, but understand themes and topics from your past chats.

By default, each Confidant only knows about conversations you've had with them. But sometimes you want one Confidant to know something you discussed with another. You can share journal entries with specific Confidants to give them that context - like building trust with a real friend.

After each meaningful conversation, Confidants can automatically create a journal entry summarizing what you discussed. These entries include the key themes, insights, and your mood during the conversation. You can also create manual journal entries anytime.

Weekly recaps are AI-generated summaries of your week. They highlight patterns in your conversations, mood trends, key themes, and offer reflection questions to help you understand yourself better over time. Available with a Plus subscription.

Yes! You can edit journal entries to add your own notes or corrections. You can also delete any journal entry you no longer want. Deleted entries are permanently removed.

Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap "Subscriptions"
4. Find Confidants and tap it
5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

You can delete your account in the app settings. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data including conversations, journal entries, and Confidants. This action cannot be undone.

Yes. Your conversations and journal entries are encrypted and stored securely. We use Row Level Security so that database queries can only return your own data. Your data is not sold or used for advertising.

No. Your conversations are not used to train AI models.

Yes! Contact us at support@createconfidants.com to request an export of your data, including all conversations and journal entries.
