Confidants is a private AI journal. Create a confidant with its own name, look, and personality, then have a conversation. Each conversation is saved as a record you can come back to later. Everything is private: encrypted, never sold, never used to train AI.

After signing up, you'll be guided through creating your first Confidant:

1. Choose a personality style that matches what you need (like "Calm" or "Direct")
2. Customize their appearance. Skin tone, hair style, expression, and colors
3. Give them a name
4. Start chatting!

No. Confidants is designed to complement, not replace, professional mental health support. Our AI Confidants are not licensed therapists or counselors.

Each personality style is designed for different needs:

• Balanced: Adapts to what you need in the moment, with no strong lean.
• Calm: Unhurried and steady. Gives you space to think without rushing you.
• Direct: Honest and straightforward. Names what you might be avoiding.
• Warm: Gentle and steady.
• Curious: Loves going deep. Notices patterns and asks the questions that make you think.
• Practical: Helps you get unstuck by finding the next concrete step.

Yes! With a Plus subscription, you can create up to 10 Confidants. Many users create different Confidants for different areas of their life. Work, relationships, creative projects. Each Confidant only knows what you've shared with them.

Yes! Your Confidants remember previous conversations and can recall relevant context when you chat with them. This is powered by semantic memory - they don't just remember word-for-word, but understand themes and topics from your past chats.

By default, each Confidant only knows about conversations you've had with them. But sometimes you want one Confidant to know something you discussed with another. You can share a record with specific Confidants to give them that context.

After each meaningful conversation, Confidants can automatically create a record summarizing what you discussed. Each record includes the key themes and key points from the conversation. You can also create records manually anytime.

Weekly recaps are AI-generated summaries of your week. They highlight patterns in your conversations, key themes, and prompts to help you make sense of it over time. Available with a Plus subscription.

Yes! You can edit a record to add your own notes or corrections. You can also delete any record you no longer want. Deleted records are permanently removed.

Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap "Subscriptions"
4. Find Confidants and tap it
5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

You can delete your account in the app settings. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data including conversations, records, and Confidants. This action cannot be undone.

Yes. Your conversations and records are encrypted and stored securely. We use Row Level Security so that database queries can only return your own data. Your data is not sold or used for advertising.

No. Your conversations are not used to train AI models.

Yes! Contact us at support@createconfidants.com to request an export of your data, including all conversations and records.

For maximum privacy, we recommend using Sign in with Apple with the "Hide My Email" option enabled. This creates a unique, random email address that forwards to your real email, so your actual email is never shared with us.

Combined with our encryption and Row Level Security, that keeps your real identity off our servers and the personal details we store to a minimum.
