Confidants is a private AI journal. Create a confidant with its own name, look, and personality, then have a conversation. Each conversation is saved as a journal entry you can come back to later. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

After signing up, you'll be guided through creating your first Confidant:

1. Choose a personality style that matches what you need (like "Calm" or "Direct")
2. Customize their appearance. Skin tone, hair style, expression, and colors
3. Give them a name
4. Start chatting!

No. Confidants is a journaling product and does not provide mental health care of any kind. Our AI Confidants are not licensed therapists or counselors, and nothing in the app is a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support.

Each personality style is designed for different needs:

• Balanced: Meets you where you are, adjusting to what you need. A good default when you're not sure what you're looking for.
• Direct: Names what you're avoiding. Honest even when it's sharp.
• Practical: Helps you get unstuck by finding the next concrete step.
• Curious: Asks the questions that draw out the deeper why, so you find it yourself.
• Calm: Unhurried and steady. Makes room for whatever you need to get out, at your pace.
• Warm: Builds you up honestly. Leads with empathy, never a comforting lie.

Yes! With a Confidants Pro subscription, you can create up to 10 Confidants. Many users create different Confidants for different areas of their life. Work, relationships, creative projects. Each Confidant only knows what you've shared with it.

Yes! Your Confidants remember previous conversations and can recall relevant context when you chat with it. This is powered by semantic memory, so it does not only match word-for-word, but understand themes and topics from your past chats.

By default, each Confidant only knows about conversations you've had with it. But sometimes you want one Confidant to know something you discussed with another. You can share a journal entry with specific Confidants to give them that context.

Yes. Ask any Confidant to help you word something and it writes the message, then opens your own Messages or Mail app with the draft filled in.

You pick who it goes to and you send it. Confidants never chooses a recipient and never reads your contacts.

Yes. Say what you want to schedule and it opens your calendar with the event filled in, so you can check the details before saving.

• "Put coffee with Sam on my calendar for Friday at 3."

Yes, and any of them can. Ask and you get a confirmation card before anything saves.

• "Monday was rough but today was good." Logs a mood for every day you named.
• "Update my bio to say I started a new job."
• "That's it, journal this one." Saves the conversation as an entry.
• "Tell the developer the export button is broken."

Rook does everything the other Confidants do. What it has on its own is knowledge: it knows how the app works, so it's the one to ask about features, settings, or plans. It also knows where the app came from, if you ever want to ask.

No. Every action is a proposal. You see exactly what it wrote on a confirmation card, and nothing is sent, saved, or changed until you tap to confirm. A Confidant only offers to write something when you ask it to.

After each meaningful conversation, Confidants can automatically create a journal entry summarizing what you discussed. Each entry includes the key themes and key points from the conversation. You can also create entries manually anytime.

Weekly recaps are AI-generated summaries of your week. They highlight patterns in your conversations, key themes, and prompts to help you make sense of it over time. Available with Confidants Pro.

Yes! You can edit a journal entry to add your own notes or corrections. You can also delete any entry you no longer want. Deleted entries are permanently removed.

Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap "Subscriptions"
4. Find Confidants and tap it
5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

You can delete your account in the app settings. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data including conversations, journal entries, and Confidants. This action cannot be undone.

Yes. Your conversations and journal entries are encrypted and stored securely. We use Row Level Security so that database queries can only return your own data. Your data is not sold or used for advertising.

No. Your conversations are not used to train AI models.

Yes! Contact us at support@createconfidants.com to request an export of your data, including all conversations and journal entries.

For maximum privacy, we recommend using Sign in with Apple with the "Hide My Email" option enabled. This creates a unique, random email address that forwards to your real email, so your actual email is never shared with us.

Combined with our encryption and Row Level Security, that keeps your real identity off our servers and the personal details we store to a minimum.
